Create a copy of an existing item with only the necessary information.

Module Description

This module allows you to create a new item starting from an existing one by including and copying all or only some of the information reported in the master data of the starting item.

Setup

Setup Origins

In the “Setup Origins” you need to activate the “Copy item Module Active” flag.

If enabled the system will show the standard “Copy item” function and the Origins one.

If disabled it will only show standard functionality.

 

Functionality

To create a new item starting from the information relating to another, you need to start from the existing/original item card and select the “Copy item” function present among the actions available in the ribbon bar.

In the “Options” section of the page that appears, the following fields are shown:

  • Item No.: This field automatically displays the item number used as the source for copying the item;
  • New Item No.: This is an editable field where you can indicate the number of the item you want to create;

In the “General” section you can activate the flags relating to the main information that you intend to copy from the original item into the master data of the new item:

  • Sales Information
  • Purchase information
  • Extended texts
  • Unit of measurement
  • Translations
  • Variants
  • Cross-references
  • Dimensions

By activating the various flags it is possible to decide which of the information of the original item should be reported on the new item to be created.
