Module Description
The “Line Closed” feature allows you to close specific lines on purchase or sales orders, bringing the residual quantities (to be received in the case of purchases or to be shipped in the case of sales) to zero.
This feature can also be used on locations with advanced warehouse management.
Closed line in purchase
On the purchase order lines, by activating the “Line Closed” flag, the quantity to be received will be reset to zero, cancelling the residual quantity on the line.
For example, once a first partial load has been recorded, we will see the fields in the “Quantity received” column filled in with how much has been loaded.
In case of not receiving a second partial load with the remaining quantity to be received, it is possible to activate the “Line Closed” flag on the item line for which we will not receive the total quantity ordered.
At that point the quantity to be received will become zero even if the quantity received is still less than the quantity ordered.
Once the line is closed, the system will no longer see the quantity to receive. If we try to record a load for that order, we will see the following message:
This same function can be used on multiple lines within the order and also on locations that require warehouse receipts.
Closed line for sale
Just like with buy orders, we may decide to close a row on sale as well.
In this case, by placing the “Line Closed” flag on the desired line, the quantity to be shipped will become zero and therefore the remaining quantity of the line will be cancelled.
For example, we might decide that the second and third lines of this order will not be delivered to the customer.
By activating the “Line Closed” flag on the two lines that will not be shipped, the system will cancel the residual quantity of the two selected lines, bringing the quantity to be shipped to zero.
If we wanted to, we could still ship the fourth line of the order that still has a quantity to ship.
Even in sales, this same functionality can be used on locations that require warehouse shipments.
