Calculating the cost accounting budget using Cost Accounting.
Module Description
This module allows you to set up and calculate an analytical accounting budget by leveraging Cost Accounting allocations and drivers.
This makes it possible to prepare a budget by accounting account by having the system calculate the breakdown of the same by cost center, division, business unit and other dimensions that are useful for an accounting budget analysis.
Setup
Budget C/A
You need to create a C/A budget by searching on the C/A Budget search lens.
Just like with the G/L budget, you can define the name of the budget and the dimensions you want to manage when creating the budget.

Budget values can be entered:
- manually from row cells:
- via Excel using the Excel import/export functions:
You can also copy an existing A/C budget using the Copy Budget action.
Current Account Chart
There are two calculated fields within the C/A chart of accounts:

- Budget Period Balance: Balance of pre-allocation budget movements.
- Budget analysis period balance: balance of post-allocation budget movements.
Functionality
C/A analysis list
On the C/A analysis tab, using the Include movements field, you can select:

- C/A: the analysis only considers C/A movements for allocations
- Budget C/A: the analysis only considers Budget C/A movements for allocations
- Both: The analysis considers both C/A movements and Budget C/A movements for allocations
It is also necessary to define which C/A budget to consider for the analysis, selecting it via the C/A Budget field.

Accounting Statements/Financial Reports
On C/A financial reports, i.e. those with the C/A accounting status flag active, it is possible to create a column definition that includes budget movements by setting the Accounting Movement Type = Budget Movements .
